Scholarship
La Klozèt Cancer Foundation is pleased to announce their scholarship program for graduating high school seniors in Orleans and St. Tammany Parishes, who have lost a parent or legal guardian to cancer or COVID-19 during 2019-2022 academic year are invited to apply for these Scholarship Awards.

Goals set by La Klozèt for the years 2020 thru 2022 include:

Implementation of in-home hair care services to cancer patients provided by a certified trichologist including quality, customized, and comfortable hair replacement (wigs).

Development and implementation of an outreach and engagement program focusing on cancer awareness information and education, cancer screening, and genetic testing in rural communities. The program will be implemented and managed jointly by LK Cancer Foundation and its community-based medical partnerships.

Actively advocating for improved statewide legislation that enhances covered cancer preventive services to include BRCA screening and counseling available during well-woman visits.

Coverage, of dermatological services is necessary in treating the residual effects of cancer and associated surgeries as part of long-term cancer treatment.
